What is an agriturismo?
An agriturismo is a typically Italian phenomenon. It is a farm with guest rooms, apartments, or both. You stay in a beautifully restored country house, surrounded by its own attractive grounds. Some of the agriturismos are luxury villas, some offer just bed & breakfast. Something for everyone. Most of the agriturismos in Italy produce wine or olive oil. An agriturismo is always situated in the countryside, and is surrounded by vineyards, olive groves, hills and mountains. You may have to drive the final stretch on an unpaved road.
