Cozy country house, close to the sea
I’d had my eye on this country house for a while, and when I was finally in the neighbourhood, I got the chance to visit. It was everything I’d hoped it would be, and I received an enthusiastic Sicilian welcome. This country house is a charming hideaway, perfect for those seeking peace and a taste of warm Sicilian hospitality. Part of one of Sicily's most important organic farms, it produces wine, olive oil, almonds, and durum wheat. Surrounded by olive groves and fruit trees, it’s set in the countryside yet still near the sea. Just 10 kilometers away, you’ll find the agriturismo’s beach club, equipped with sunbeds, umbrellas, and a beach bar with a lively yet relaxed vibe. Here you can enjoy water activities, evening events, and delicious food. It’s the ideal blend for those wanting both countryside tranquility and seaside.
Experience Sicilian Food Sharing
This agriturismo doesn’t have a traditional restaurant, but you can still enjoy a unique dining concept called “Chiama Vinu” – a Sicilian-style food sharing experience with appetizers to share. Think of it as tapas, but with a Sicilian twist: small, homemade bites made with fresh, local ingredients. What’s served depends on the season and the chef’s inspiration of the day.
This informal style of dining is based on a cherished local tradition, where the focus is on tasting and sharing – just like during a Sicilian family gathering. House wines from different parts of the island complete the experience.
Available daily from 7:00 to 9:30 p.m.
You can order “Chiama Vinu” with the following options:
April, May and October: 5 tastings
June through September: 5 or 8 tastings
Dishes are served on the shared terrace, or you can enjoy them in the privacy of your room if you prefer.
Looking for a more traditional restaurant? Just a 10-minute drive away, at another location of the agriturismo, you can enjoy lunch or dinner with a 10% discount. Savor authentic Sicilian flavors on a beautiful terrace with a view. The reception will be happy to make a reservation for you.
Swimming pool, cooking class and bikes
There’s a pool with loungers, umbrellas and small tables – a peaceful, scenic spot where the only sounds are those of the Sicilian countryside. Nearby is a scenic bike path on a repurposed old railway line. For those who wish to explore the area by bike or on foot, there are custom maps with unique routes, each with different difficulty levels, durations, and distances through the countryside. The agriturismo also has regular bicycles and e-bikes!
At the agriturismo’s other location, just 10 minutes away, you can take part in a variety of activities designed for guests of all ages – from cooking classes and wine tastings to food and wine tours. For more information, just ask at the front desk.
The rooms
The country house has 10 rooms decorated in a modern, elegant style. Some can accommodate extra beds, and several have their own terrace (with some offering sea views). The rooms are equipped with WiFi, air conditioning, hairdryers, minibars, and satellite TV.
Close the Beach and the Valle dei Templi
Just a 12-minute drive through the fields brings you to a long, beautiful white-sand beach. There are some beachside restaurants, but the area is spacious enough to find a quiet spot. Four kilometers from the country house is a typical southern village with shops and restaurants. The village bakery still makes bread in a wood-fired oven, and their fig biscuits are delicious—I tried them myself! Just over an hour away is the famous Valle dei Templi in Agrigento with its impressive Greek temples, as well as the Scala dei Turchi. Trapani and Palermo are a bit over an hour away too. But I’m sure you’ll want to stay close to the country house; it’s so relaxing here, perfect for reading or dining in a cozy, family-like setting! Plus, of course, you’ll have that wonderful beach nearby!
