Luxury, indulgence and hospitality in Puglia
For two days I enjoyed the luxury and hospitality of the southern Italians. Too short, of course, because I would have loved to stay a little longer. Upon arrival I was treated to a welcome drink and delicious snacks by the pool. The masseria is in a quiet area surrounded by beautiful ancient olive trees and it is newly built. You are in the middle of nature but in just 5 minutes by car you can be in the lively tourist town of Otranto. For me, the ideal combination. If you want you can check out the crowds, but when you've had enough of the hurly-burly you can chill out here wonderfully.
Pool with bar and full breakfast buffet
The masseria is spacious with a beautiful swimming pool in the middle of the grounds with sun beds and a welcoming bar (be sure to ask the bartender, who comes from Calabria, if he’ll make his famous cocktail for you!). There are free mountain-bikes for the guests. If, the night before, I had been impressed by the delicious aperitivo snacks by the pool, the next morning at breakfast I felt like a kid in a candy store. I've never seen so many delicious cakes together. All different and all home made! If you stay a week here you can easily eat a different cake every day. There is also fresh fruit, yogurt with different types of cereal, scrambled eggs, cheese and delicious freshly baked bread. The owners of the masseria also have a restaurant overlooking the sea about 20 minutes away by car. I had a wonderful meal there, out on the porch, and can really recommend it. Feel free to ask at the reception and they will explain how to get there. You need a car as it is quite isolated.
The rooms
The rooms are all located on the ground floor, in a U-shape. Some rooms have their own little terrace. The rooms are minimally furnished in beautiful natural tones and have WiFi, air-conditioning, hairdryer, safe, minibar and satellite TV. There are three types of rooms: superior, deluxe and junior suite, depending on the size of the room. The junior suite consists of a living room with a double sofa bed and a separate bedroom with double bed and is therefore suitable for a family with two children.
In short
Wonderful luxury masseria near the lively seaside town of Otranto. Highly recommended to relax in and be pampered by the friendly team of the masseria!
