Organic apple farm in the Valley of the Lakes
When you think of Trentino, you think of apples. Little wonder therefore that the apple is the core business of this organic farm. The approach to the agriturismo leads through an apple orchard. I was cordially welcomed with a glass of homemade apple juice (what else?). Pressed at a nearby location, unfiltered and organic, of course. You will also find apple delicacies on the breakfast table, like strudel, and tasty apple snacks wrapped in local speck (bacon).
The agriturismo is conveniently centrally located in Trentino, making it a great base from which to take day trips and do activities. It is only 30 minutes to lively Lake Garda, for instance. The northern tip of the lake is a magnet for water- and mountain sports enthusiasts, with its favourable winds for sailing, surfing and kitesurfing. The mountains surrounding the town of Arco are a true paradise for mountaineers and bikers. Their sheer rock faces are a challenge to all types of rock climbers, and there are lots of fantastic trails for mountain bikers. With the electric mountain bikes that one can rent these days, discover the mountains by bike is now within practically everyone’s reach.
The lively city of Trento is only 15 minutes by car. The region is also known as the Valley of the Lakes on account of its several smaller lakes with crystal clear water. At only a 10-minute drive from the property are two lakes where one can swim in summer. And if you are there in the winter time and you like winter sports, you can reach Andalo within 45 minutes: a lively middle-sized skiing area with slopes for both rookies and advanced skiers. I know it personally, because this is where I learned to ski. Other attractive places to visit are the nice trattorias that are found not far from the agriturismo, and where local dishes are served. The reception is happy to advise you on where to go and will also book them for you.
The buildings of the agriturismo are modern, but as local materials have been used, such as wood, they blend in perfectly with their natural surroundings. They include a cosy breakfast room and a terrace where you can enjoy your breakfast outdoors when the weather is fine. You can also take a nice swim in the bio pool in the garden: its water is filtered naturally by plants, and it is lined with sunbeds. The garden also boasts a veggie plot with various vegetables (tomatoes, courgettes, pumpkins) and local herbs.
Rooms & Suites
In total, there are 12 rooms, suites and junior suites. Every room has wifi, a minibar, kettle and hairdryer. The interiors of the rooms combine wood, mostly, with a few modern concrete elements. The rooms on the ground floor have their own outdoor seating area.
