Child-friendly and hospitable agriturismo in Umbria
Umbria is also called “the green heart of Italy”, because of its gently rolling green hills. It is a wonderfully quiet region, with beautiful countryside and attractive towns: Assisi, for instance, or Perugia, Orvieto and Gubbio. Besides these, Umbria has many smaller and lesser-known “borghi” with just as much seductive charm. Amidst all this lies this child-friendly and pleasant agriturismo.
The property is a renovated fortress dating from the sixteenth century, which now consists of four colonial-style houses. It is situated 25 kms north of Orvieto. This is the ideal starting point for discovering Umbria and the eastern part of Tuscany. The historic Tuscan towns of Montepulciano, Pienza and Montalcino are just an hour’s drive away.
Swimming pool and play ground
The agriturismo is very child-friendly: it has a swimming pool, a large playground with play equipment, a football pitch, volleyball pitch, table tennis table, a boules track, a joint-use washing machine, mountain bike rental and a BBQ zone with picknick tables. And wifi, of course!
Less than a kilometer from the agriturismo, you will find a nice village with a small supermarket, bank, pharmacy and a pizzeria, and there are several diverse restaurants nearby. You don’t need to go anywhere to get fruit, as the agriturismo has its own vegetable and fruit garden with e.g. strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, currants, and seasonal vegetables, that you can pick to your heart’s content!
The apartments
There are 10 differently-sized apartments in the four houses of the agriturismo. The apartments have been simply but comfortably furnished in warm colours, and they all have their own little garden or terrace, and satellite TV.
