Charming boutique hotel near Bellagio
Set in a beautiful position overlooking Lake Como, this small boutique hotel is built into the hillside and enjoys stunning views across the lake and the surrounding mountains. During my visit, I was immediately struck by the peaceful atmosphere, elegant design and spectacular panoramic views. This is a place where relaxation comes naturally, allowing guests to unwind in stylish surroundings where it is easy to feel at home.
The hotel is located just a short distance from Bellagio, perhaps the most beautiful and certainly the best-known town on Lake Como. Situated at the point where the lake's three branches meet, Bellagio is renowned for its narrow cobbled streets, elegant villas, inviting cafés and picturesque lakeside promenade. Wander through the historic centre, visit the beautiful gardens of Villa Melzi or take a ferry to one of the many charming villages dotted around the lake. Bellagio can be quite lively during the summer months, making it all the more enjoyable to return afterwards to the tranquillity of this intimate retreat.
If you prefer not to drive into Bellagio, there is a bus stop almost directly next to the hotel, with regular connections to the town centre. Lecco is also within easy reach by car. This attractive lakeside town offers a charming historic centre, a pleasant waterfront promenade and an authentic northern Italian atmosphere. A scenic drive along the lake will also take you to Como in 30 minutes by car.
Stylish rooms with lake views
With just six rooms, this small-scale property offers a high level of privacy and personal service. Every room enjoys views over Lake Como and comes equipped with air conditioning, Wi-Fi, a minibar, safe and hairdryer. Wherever you stay, the breathtaking scenery is never far away.
The villa is built on several levels along the hillside, creating a variety of terraces and viewpoints throughout the grounds. Guests should be aware, however, that there are quite a few steps, making the property less suitable for those with limited mobility.
Infinity pool with panoramic views
Outside, there are several inviting spots where you can relax and take in the views. The infinity pool appears to merge seamlessly with the lake beyond and is undoubtedly one of the highlights of the property. Comfortable sun loungers surround the pool, providing the perfect place to spend a leisurely day in the sun. Thanks to the limited number of rooms, it never feels crowded. There are also several terraces and a beautifully maintained garden where it is easy to find a peaceful corner to yourself.
Breakfast with a view
The day begins at a relaxed pace with a generous breakfast. On fine mornings, breakfast is served on the terrace overlooking Lake Como. Fresh bread, pastries, fruit and other local specialities provide the perfect start to the day, accompanied by one of the finest views on the lake.
A unique home-style restaurant
One of the most appealing aspects of this property is its intimate home-style restaurant. Rather than a traditional restaurant setting, guests can enjoy a more personal and relaxed dining experience.
The cosy living room forms the heart of the hotel. Here, a large communal table invites guests to come together and enjoy dinner in a warm and informal atmosphere. Through a floor-to-ceiling glass wall, you can watch the chef at work in the open kitchen as he prepares each dish with passion and care. While enjoying an aperitif, you can see fresh local ingredients being transformed into beautifully presented dishes. For those seeking a little more privacy, a few smaller tables are available in the adjoining dining room, allowing for a more intimate dining experience.
The chef works wherever possible with locally sourced ingredients and draws inspiration from the culinary traditions of Lake Como and Lombardy. He is always happy to explain the ingredients and the stories behind the dishes, turning dinner into an experience that is as interesting as it is delicious.
An ideal base for exploring Lake Como
Thanks to its central location, this is an excellent base from which to explore Lake Como. Visit the picturesque villages that line the shoreline, take a boat trip to charming towns such as Varenna and Menaggio, discover famous villas and gardens including Villa Serbelloni and Villa Melzi, or simply enjoy the stunning scenery that makes this region so special.
In short
A small boutique hotel in a peaceful setting on Lake Como, offering just six rooms, breathtaking views, a beautiful infinity pool and a unique home-style restaurant where hospitality and local flavours take centre stage. An ideal choice for couples looking to enjoy the tranquillity, comfort and timeless charm of Lake Como.
