Quiet mountain farm for lovers of hiking and mountain biking

This agriturismo is situated at an altitude of 1,600 meters, which guarantees a magnificent view of the dramatic crests of the Dolomites and the village in the valley. After sunset, the lights of the village offer a picturesque sight. I have happy memories of my cordial reception by the owner. She looks after the apartments and the guests, while her husband manages the farm. We had a nice chat while I sipped the home-made raspberry juice that I was offered with my freshly-baked Apfelstrudel. On the sunny terrace, she told me how she and her husband had rebuilt the old farm from scratch. Everything is made of wood from the local forests. Beautiful, and sustainable too.  

Farm in a quiet location

This agriturismo in the mountains is still very much a working farm. You see horses here and cows, and clucking hens poking about the farmyard, who of course provide the eggs for breakfast. You can organize your own breakfast, but you can also order fresh bread, or choose to have a complete breakfast basket delivered (at an additional cost). The basket is filled with fresh products from the farm and surrounding area, and homemade goodies such as jam, juice, yoghurt and cake. You can compose the contents of the basket yourself, by selecting them from a list of products: fresh, tasty and healthy! Another nice characteristic of this agriturismo is that its owners are real dog lovers. Dogs are welcome here. And children can play in the playground or of course take part in the farm activities. 

Ideal starting point for hikers and mountain bikers

If you like skiing, you can do so (in winter) in a small skiing area, a 20 to 30-minute drive from the property. You want to conquer more challenging slopes? Plan de Corones, with slopes of all levels, is one hour away. The famous Tre Cime National Park is only 30 minutes away. Here you can marvel at the jagged pinnacles of the Dolomites. The agriturismo and its surroundings are equally lovely in other seasons too. There are fantastic hiking tracks, and you can explore the beautiful region by mountain bike. Several routes start here, including one that leads further up to a mountain hut. This is why the agriturismo is also a popular starting point for hikers. It even has a room designated for storing your skiing, hiking- and biking equipment, with a dryer for ski and hiking boots.  

Restaurant at walking distance

Immediately next to the agriturismo (at about 150 metres) is a good, popular restaurant serving specialties from Südtirol. The locals think nothing of undertaking the uphill drive to get there! The owner can reserve a table for you.

The apartments

The agriturismo has 4 comfortable 3-room apartments, two on the first floor, and two on the second floor. The apartments are situated next to the farm and the stables: you know you are really staying on a farm. The interiors are modern and comfortable, with lots of wood. That provides the warm atmosphere characteristic of this region in the Alps. Every apartment has its own balcony with a splendid view of the Dolomites. Every apartment is equipped with an oven, coffee machine, fridge with freezer, Wifi, TV, dishwasher and underfloor heating.

Small-scale, working mountain farm with friendly owners, set in quiet surroundings, with modern, comfortable apartments. A good restaurant within walking distance. And ideal for hikers and lovers of mountain biking.
