Stylish stay among the vineyards of Piedmont
Amid the rolling hills of Piedmont, just a few kilometers from the charming town of Alba, I discovered this elegant and small-scale luxury agriturismo. Its location is ideal for a relaxing holiday, whether as a couple or with family, right in the heart of Piedmont’s wine region. From the property, you can enjoy views of the vineyards, castles, and – on clear days – even Monte Rosa and the Alps.
I received a warm welcome from Isabelle, who immediately offered me a lovely glass of their own white wine and some homemade snacks on the terrace. It was the perfect introduction to the atmosphere of this place: refined, yet personal and welcoming.
Pool and Breakfast
This agriturismo was built with great attention to detail and radiates peace and quality. In the garden, you’ll find a beautifully landscaped swimming pool with views of the hills, surrounded by comfortable loungers. The family also offers wine tastings in their own vineyard, which you can book on-site.
Since the agriturismo has only five rooms and aims to avoid food waste, breakfast is preferably served in your room. On sunny mornings, you can enjoy it on your private terrace or balcony. The day before, you fill out a breakfast menu and choose from a wide selection of sweet and savory items, and your breakfast is delivered to your room the next morning. The ingredients are top-quality and locally sourced – think local cheeses and cold cuts, homemade hazelnut spread, and hazelnut cake (which I can personally highly recommend!).
Wine tasting
The tastings are hosted by the owner, who will not only introduce you to their wines but also share the stories and traditions of the Roero region. After a warm welcome and a beautiful view of the vineyards, you'll be given a guided tour of the wine cellar, where you’ll discover how their wines are made, from grape to bottle. This is followed by a tasting of five or seven wines, paired with local delicacies such as Castelmagno cheese, hazelnuts (a regional specialty), salame crudo, and homemade hazelnut cake. Tastings take place on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays and are also suitable for children – they are offered fresh juice. A must for lovers of wine and local specialties!
Rooms with a view
The agriturismo offers five rooms and one apartment, all decorated in calm, natural tones that harmonize beautifully with the surroundings. The rooms are equipped with modern comforts such as Wi-Fi, air conditioning, a smart TV with Netflix, a hairdryer, and high-quality bed linen. Some rooms have a balcony or private terrace with breathtaking views over the vineyards.
What stands out is the warm interior and the high standard of finish – everything feels carefully considered and comfortably luxurious.
Great restaurants in the village
Just a short walk from the relais is the charming village square, where you’ll find two particularly nice and popular restaurants. A tip: reservations are a must. Unfortunately, I hadn’t booked a table in advance and couldn’t get in – but I saw them, and they looked very inviting! The reception will be happy to help you with a reservation. In the My Italy app – which our customers can download for free – these restaurants are listed as recommendations.
In short
A small-scale, stylish retreat where you can completely unwind. The location among the hills of Piedmont is perfect for those who enjoy wine, fine food, and sweeping views. The personal welcome, breakfast served in your room, and the well-appointed accommodation make this an excellent choice for anyone looking for something truly special in Piedmont.
